Ingredients

  • 2 cups Jasmine rice
  • 1.5 cups Coconut milk
  • 1 cup Water
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 pound Beef sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 3 tablespoons Soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Cornstarch
  • 3 tablespoons Vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger, minced
  • 1 Red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 Carrot, julienned
  • 1 cup Snow peas
  • 1 teaspoon Sesame oil
  • 2 Green onions, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame seeds (optional)

Directions

Step 1

Rinse the jasmine rice under cold water until the water runs clear.

Step 2

In a medium-sized pot, combine the jasmine rice, coconut milk, water, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat.

Step 3

Reduce the heat to low, cover the pot, and simmer for 15-18 minutes, or until the rice is cooked and liquid is absorbed. Set aside and keep warm.

Step 4

In a bowl, mix the beef slices with 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of oyster sauce, and cornstarch. Let marinate for 10 minutes.

Heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
