Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8x8-inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides for easy removal later.
In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter and semi-sweet chocolate chips together in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth. Let the mixture cool slightly.
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, brown sugar, and the melted chocolate-butter mixture until combined.
Add the eggs one at a time, whisking well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients just until combined. Do not overmix.
Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared pan, spreading it evenly with a spatula.
