Ingredients

  • 1 pound Whole wheat pizza dough
  • 6 slices Cooked lean turkey breast slices
  • 1 cup Reduced-fat mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup Fresh spinach leaves
  • 0.5 cup Red bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 0.5 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1 Egg white
  • 0.5 cup Marinara sauce (for dipping, optional)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 2

Lightly flour a clean countertop or surface, then roll out the whole wheat pizza dough into a large rectangle, roughly 10x14 inches.

Step 3

Sprinkle the Italian seasoning and garlic powder evenly over the dough to add extra flavor.

Step 4

Layer the turkey breast slices evenly across the surface of the dough, leaving about a 1-inch border around the edges.

Step 5

Sprinkle the reduced-fat mozzarella cheese over the turkey slices, followed by the fresh spinach leaves and red bell pepper slices.

Step 6

Carefully roll the dough from one long side to the other, creating a tight log. Pinch the edges to seal the seam and tuck the ends underneath the roll to secure it.

Step 7

Transfer the Stromboli to the prepared baking sheet, seam side down. Brush the top lightly with the beaten egg white to help it brown in the oven.

Step 8

Using a sharp knife, make 3–4 small slits on the top of the Stromboli to allow steam to escape while baking.

Step 9

Bake in the preheated oven for 20–25 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and cooked through.

Step 10

Remove from the oven and let cool for 5 minutes. Slice into portions and serve warm with marinara sauce on the side for dipping, if desired.
