Ingredients

  • 1 cup All-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons Baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon Granulated garlic powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 cup Reduced-fat shredded cheddar cheese
  • 0.33 cup Unsweetened almond milk (or fat-free milk)
  • 2 tablespoons Light butter, melted
  • 0.5 teaspoon Dried parsley
  • 0.25 teaspoon Garlic powder (for topping)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly spray it with nonstick cooking spray.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, 1 teaspoon of garlic powder, and salt. Mix well to ensure the dry ingredients are evenly distributed.

Step 3

Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until it is evenly coated with the dry ingredients.

Step 4

Pour in the almond milk and 1 tablespoon of the melted light butter, then gently mix until a soft dough forms. Be careful not to overmix to maintain a tender texture.

Step 5

Using a spoon or small cookie scoop, drop 6 evenly-sized mounds of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them an inch or two apart.

Step 6

Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown and cooked through.

Step 7

While the biscuits bake, prepare the topping by mixing the remaining 1 tablespoon of melted butter with 1/4 teaspoon of garlic powder and the dried parsley.

Step 8

Once the biscuits are out of the oven, immediately brush the garlic butter mixture over the tops of the biscuits using a pastry brush or spoon.

Step 9

Allow the biscuits to cool for a few minutes, then serve warm and enjoy!
