Ingredients

  • 0.5 pound Lean ground beef (96% lean)
  • 1 tablespoon Taco seasoning (low-sodium)
  • 2 tablespoons Water
  • 0.5 cup Shredded reduced-fat Mexican cheese blend
  • 20 pieces Wonton wrappers
  • 0 Olive oil spray
  • 0.5 cup Jarred salsa (mild or medium)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.

Step 2

In a nonstick skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned and fully cooked (about 5 minutes).

Step 3

Stir in the taco seasoning and water. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly, until the seasoning coats the beef evenly. Remove the skillet from heat and let the mixture cool slightly.

Step 4

In a small bowl, combine the seasoned beef with shredded reduced-fat Mexican cheese blend.

Step 5

Lay the wonton wrappers flat on a clean work surface. Spoon about 1 teaspoon of the beef and cheese mixture into the center of each wonton wrapper.

Step 6

Using your fingertip or a small brush, lightly wet the edges of each wrapper with water. Fold the wrappers diagonally to form a triangle and press along the edges to seal tightly.

Step 7

Arrange the filled wontons on the prepared baking sheet. Lightly spray the tops of the wontons with olive oil spray to help them crisp up in the oven.

Step 8

Bake in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes, or until the wontons are golden brown and crispy.

Step 9

Serve hot with jarred salsa on the side for dipping.
