Ingredients

  • 3 pounds pork baby back ribs
  • 2 tablespoons smoked paprika
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 0.5 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1.5 cups BBQ sauce
  • 1 teaspoon liquid smoke

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 275°F (135°C).

Step 2

Remove the silver membrane on the back of the ribs by sliding a knife under it and peeling it off with your fingers or a paper towel for better grip.

Step 3

In a small bowl, combine the smoked paprika, brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, salt, and chili powder to create a dry rub.

Step 4

Generously pat the dry rub all over the ribs, ensuring they are evenly coated.

Step 5

Place the ribs on a large sheet of aluminum foil, meat side up, and lightly drizzle them with half of the apple cider vinegar.

Step 6

Wrap the ribs tightly in the foil, sealing the edges securely to create a packet.

Step 7

Place the foil-wrapped ribs on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 2 1/2 hours or until the ribs are tender.

Step 8

While the ribs bake, prepare the BBQ glaze by mixing the BBQ sauce, liquid smoke, remaining apple cider vinegar, and honey in a small saucepan over medium heat. Simmer for 5-7 minutes and set aside.

Step 9

Once the ribs are tender, remove them from the oven and carefully unwrap them. Drain any excess liquid if needed.

Step 10

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat or set your oven to broil.

Step 11

Brush the ribs generously with the BBQ glaze and place them on the grill (or a foil-lined baking sheet if using the broiler).

Step 12

Grill or broil the ribs for 5-7 minutes, flipping and brushing with more glaze halfway through, until caramelized and slightly charred.

Step 13

Remove the ribs from the heat and let them rest for 5 minutes before slicing between the bones.

Step 14

Serve hot with extra glaze on the side and enjoy the smoky, flavorful ribs!
