Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons Soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon Sesame oil
  • 2 teaspoons Honey
  • 1 clove Garlic clove
  • 1 teaspoon Fresh ginger
  • 1 stalk Green onion
  • 0.5 teaspoons Red chili flakes
  • 1 tablespoon Water
  • 1 teaspoon Lime juice (optional)

Directions

Step 1

Peel and finely mince the garlic clove.

Step 2

Peel and grate the fresh ginger using a fine grater or microplane.

Step 3

Chop the green onion finely, separating the white and green parts for garnish later if desired.

Step 4

In a medium-sized bowl, combine the soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, honey, and water. Mix well until the honey is fully dissolved.

Step 5

Add the minced garlic, grated ginger, red chili flakes, and the chopped white portions of the green onion to the bowl. Stir thoroughly to incorporate the flavors.

Step 6

If desired, squeeze in lime juice for a tangy twist and stir again.

Step 7

Taste the sauce and adjust seasoning as needed. Add more soy sauce for saltiness, honey for sweetness, or chili flakes for spiciness.

Step 8

Transfer the dipping sauce to a serving dish and sprinkle the green portions of the chopped onions on top as a garnish.

Step 9

Serve with freshly cooked wontons or other appetizers, and enjoy!
