Ingredients

  • 1 loaf Sourdough bread (round loaf)
  • 6 tablespoons Unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh parsley (chopped)
  • 1.5 cups Grated Wisconsin cheddar cheese
  • 1.5 cups Grated Wisconsin mozzarella cheese
  • 0.5 cups Grated Wisconsin Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil
  • 0.25 teaspoons Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoons Black pepper (optional)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Step 2

Place the sourdough loaf on a cutting board. Using a serrated knife, make diagonal cuts about 1 inch apart across the top of the bread, being careful not to cut all the way through to the bottom crust.

Step 3

Turn the loaf 90 degrees and make diagonal cuts in the opposite direction, creating a grid pattern on the bread.

Step 4

In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper (if using). Remove from heat and set aside.

Step 5

Gently separate the sections of the bread grid and drizzle the garlic butter mixture into the crevices, ensuring it's evenly distributed.

Step 6

Stuff the grated Wisconsin cheddar, mozzarella, and Parmesan cheeses into the crevices of the bread, dividing them as evenly as possible. Make sure to push the cheese deep inside so it melts thoroughly.

Step 7

Brush the top of the bread with olive oil to promote browning and crispiness while baking.

Step 8

Wrap the entire loaf in aluminum foil and place it on a baking sheet.

Step 9

Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes, then carefully unwrap the foil to expose the top of the bread. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly and melted.

Step 10

Remove the bread from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Serve warm and enjoy the cheesy, buttery goodness!
