Ingredients

  • 500 grams Mloukhiye (jute leaves), fresh or frozen
  • 500 grams Chicken thighs, boneless and skinless
  • 2 medium Onions, chopped
  • 4 cloves Garlic cloves, minced
  • 4 cups Whole30-compliant chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon Ground coriander
  • 1 teaspoon Ground cumin
  • 2 tablespoons Extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1 large Lemon, juiced
  • 0.25 teaspoon Cayenne pepper

Directions

Step 1

1. If using fresh mloukhiye, wash and chop the leaves coarsely. If using frozen, thaw and drain any excess water.

2. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the onions and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes.

3. Add the minced garlic and cook for another 2 minutes, stirring frequently to prevent burning.
