Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 0.5 tsp garlic powder
  • 0.5 tsp onion powder
  • 4 lettuce leaves
  • 1 medium tomato
  • 0.5 medium red onion
  • 4 slices Whole30 compliant bacon
  • 4 tbsp Whole30 compliant mayonnaise
  • 1 small avocado
  • 1 large pickle

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your grill or stovetop grill pan over medium-high heat.

Step 2

In a medium bowl, combine ground beef with sea salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

Step 3

Divide the mixture into four equal parts and shape each into a patty about ¾ inch thick.

Step 4

Place the patties onto the preheated grill and cook for 3-4 minutes per side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness. For medium, aim for an internal temperature of 160°F.

Step 5

While the burgers are cooking, fry the bacon in a pan over medium heat until crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side. Drain excess fat on a paper towel.

Step 6

Slice the tomato and red onion into thin slices. Peel and pit the avocado, and slice it thinly.

Step 7

Once the burgers and bacon are cooked, assemble your burgers. Using large lettuce leaves as a base, place a patty on top of the leaf.

Step 8

Spread 1 tablespoon of Whole30 compliant mayonnaise on each patty. Add two slices of bacon, slices of tomato, red onion, avocado, and pickle.

Step 9

Top each burger with another lettuce leaf to complete, securing with a toothpick if needed.

Step 10

Serve immediately and enjoy your Whole30 Classic Cheeseburger.
