Ingredients

  • 1 pound 80/20 ground beef
  • 4 slices Whole30-compliant bacon
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Onion powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 4 large leaves Romaine lettuce
  • 1 large Tomato
  • 0.5 small Red onion
  • 1 medium Avocado
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard (Whole30-compliant)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your grill or stovetop grill pan over medium-high heat.

Step 2

In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined. Do not overwork the meat.

Step 3

Divide the mixture into two equal parts and shape into patties, ensuring they are slightly larger than the size of the buns as they will shrink during cooking.

Step 4

Place the bacon slices in a cold skillet and turn the heat to medium. Cook the bacon until crispy, about 4-5 minutes per side. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Step 5

Slice the tomato and red onion thinly and set aside. Peel and slice the avocado.

Step 6

Once the grill is hot, place the burger patties on the grill. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium, or until desired doneness.

Step 7

To assemble the burgers, lay two large lettuce leaves on each plate to form a wrap.

Step 8

Place the cooked burger patty on each lettuce wrap, top with bacon, tomato slices, onion slices, and avocado. Add a dollop of Dijon mustard.

Step 9

Wrap the lettuce around the burger to hold all the toppings inside and serve immediately.
