Peel the yuca and cut it into large chunks. Make sure to remove the fibrous core.
Place the yuca chunks in a large pot and cover with water. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat and cook for 20 minutes or until the yuca is tender and easily pierced with a fork.
Drain the yuca and allow it to cool slightly. Once cool enough to handle, mash the yuca using a potato masher or fork until smooth and there are no lumps.
Mix the mashed yuca in a bowl with salt, 2 tablespoons of coconut oil, and a quarter cup of warm water to form a dough. The dough should be smooth and pliable.
