Ingredients

  • 250 grams white chocolate
  • 60 ml heavy cream
  • 30 grams unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 50 grams powdered sugar
  • 100 grams dessicated coconut or finely crushed nuts

Directions

Step 1

Chop the white chocolate finely and place it in a heatproof bowl.

Step 2

In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until it just begins to simmer. Do not let it boil.

Step 3

Remove the saucepan from the heat and pour the hot cream over the chopped white chocolate. Let it sit for 2 minutes to melt the chocolate.

Step 4

Stir the mixture gently until the chocolate melts completely and the mixture is smooth.

Step 5

Add the unsalted butter and vanilla extract to the chocolate mixture, and stir until the butter has melted and everything is well combined.

Step 6

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for about 2 hours, or until the mixture is firm enough to handle.

Step 7

Once chilled, use a teaspoon to scoop out small amounts of the mixture and roll them into balls with your hands.

Step 8

Place the powdered sugar in one shallow bowl and the desiccated coconut or crushed nuts in another shallow bowl.

Step 9

Roll each truffle in the powdered sugar to coat, then roll in the coconut or nuts, if desired, for additional flavor and texture.

Step 10

Place the finished truffles on a plate or tray and refrigerate for another hour to set firm before serving or storing.
