Ingredients

  • 170 grams white chocolate chips or chopped white chocolate
  • 113 grams unsalted butter, softened
  • 240 grams powdered sugar, sifted
  • 60 milliliters heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch salt

Directions

Step 1

Place the white chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring after each interval, until the chocolate is fully melted and smooth. Let it cool slightly but remain pourable.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, use a hand mixer or stand mixer to beat the softened butter on medium speed until smooth and fluffy, about 2 minutes.

Step 3

Reduce the mixer speed to low and gradually add the powdered sugar. Beat until the mixture is light and creamy, scraping down the sides of the bowl as needed.

Step 4

Slowly pour the melted white chocolate into the butter and powdered sugar mixture. Beat on medium speed until well combined.

Step 5

Add the heavy cream, vanilla extract, and pinch of salt. Continue beating on medium-high speed until the icing is smooth, fluffy, and spreadable. If needed, add an additional splash of heavy cream to adjust the consistency.

Step 6

Use immediately to frost your desired dessert, or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Allow the icing to come to room temperature and re-whip before using if stored.
