Ingredients

  • 2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 0.25 teaspoons Salt
  • 0.75 cups Unsalted butter, softened
  • 0.5 cups Powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoons Vanilla extract
  • 8 ounces White chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoons Vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons Edible glitter or white sprinkles (optional)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.

Step 2

In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour and salt. Set aside.

Step 3

In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter and powdered sugar together with an electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy, about 2 minutes.

Step 4

Mix in the vanilla extract until fully incorporated.

Step 5

Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, beating on low speed until the dough comes together. It should be soft but not sticky.

Step 6

Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and roll it into a log about 1 inch in diameter. Wrap the log in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes to firm up.

Step 7

Once the dough is chilled, slice it into 1/4-inch thick discs and arrange them on the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 1 inch apart.

Step 8

Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are just starting to turn golden. Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool completely on a wire rack.

Step 9

While the cookies are cooling, melt the white chocolate chips and vegetable oil together in the microwave in 30-second increments, stirring after each interval until smooth.

Step 10

Drizzle the melted white chocolate over the cooled cookies using a spoon or piping bag.

Step 11

Immediately sprinkle edible glitter or white sprinkles over the chocolate, if desired, for a frosty, icicle-like appearance.

Step 12

Allow the white chocolate to set completely before serving or storing in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week.
