Ingredients

  • 1 pound Ground beef (80/20 lean-to-fat ratio)
  • 1 large White onion, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 6 slices American cheese slices
  • 12 pieces Dinner rolls or slider buns
  • 12 slices Pickle slices
  • 2 tablespoons Butter, melted
  • 1 sheet Parchment paper

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 2

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix until just combined—avoid overmixing to keep the beef tender.

Step 3

Spread the ground beef evenly onto the parchment-lined baking sheet, pressing it down to create a thin and even layer, approximately 1/4-inch thick. Use a rolling pin if needed to flatten the meat.

Step 4

Sprinkle the minced onion evenly over the meat, gently pressing it into the surface.

Step 5

Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the beef is cooked through.

Step 6

Remove the baking sheet from the oven and carefully drain any excess grease.

Step 7

Place the American cheese slices evenly across the cooked beef while it’s still hot, allowing them to melt slightly.

Step 8

Let the beef cool for a few minutes, then use a knife or pizza cutter to slice it into 12 even squares.

Step 9

Slice the dinner rolls in half horizontally, if they’re not pre-split, and brush the cut sides with melted butter.

Step 10

Toast the buttered rolls in a skillet or under a broiler until golden brown.

Step 11

Assemble the sliders by placing one beef square onto the bottom bun of each roll, followed by a pickle slice and the top bun.

Step 12

Serve warm and enjoy these delicious White Castle-inspired appetizers!
