Ingredients

  • 4 pieces (6-8 oz each) Salmon fillets
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons Unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves Garlic cloves (minced)
  • 3 tablespoons Brown sugar
  • 0.25 cup Whiskey
  • 2 tablespoons Soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh parsley (chopped)

Directions

Step 1

Pat the salmon fillets dry with a paper towel. Season both sides with salt and black pepper, and set them aside.

Step 2

Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add the olive oil. Once hot, place the salmon fillets skin-side down. Sear for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until the salmon is golden brown and almost cooked through. Remove the salmon from the skillet and set aside.

Step 3

Lower the heat to medium. In the same skillet, add the butter and let it melt. Stir in the minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds.

Step 4

Add the brown sugar to the skillet, stirring it into the butter and garlic mixture until it melts completely.

Step 5

Carefully pour in the whiskey, allowing it to simmer for 1-2 minutes and reduce slightly. The alcohol will cook off, leaving a rich, smoky flavor.

Step 6

Stir in the soy sauce and lemon juice, combining all the ingredients into a smooth glaze.

Step 7

Return the salmon to the skillet and spoon the whiskey caramel glaze over each fillet. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, basting the salmon continuously with the glaze until fully cooked and caramelized.

Step 8

Remove the skillet from heat and let the salmon rest for 2 minutes before serving. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley.

Step 9

Serve hot alongside your favorite sides, such as roasted vegetables, mashed potatoes, or a crisp salad.
