  • 20 g Chopped dark chocolate (optional, for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

Peel the pears, leaving the stems intact, and carefully core them from the bottom using a small knife or melon baller. Drizzle the pears with lemon juice to prevent browning while you work.

In a medium saucepan, combine water, cocoa powder, granulated sugar, cinnamon stick, and star anise. Whisk well to dissolve the cocoa powder and sugar. Bring the mixture to a gentle boil over medium heat.
