  • 2 large Apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp preferred)
  • 3 tbsp Granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp Ground cinnamon
  • 4 Large eggs
  • 1 cup Whole milk
  • 1 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 0.25 tsp Salt
  • 2 tbsp Powdered sugar

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Place a 10- or 12-inch ovenproof skillet (preferably cast iron) in the oven to heat up while you prepare the ingredients.

Step 2

Peel, core, and thinly slice the apples. Set them aside.

Step 3

Carefully remove the hot skillet from the oven and add the butter. Swirl the skillet until the butter is fully melted, then add the apple slices. Sprinkle the sugar and cinnamon evenly over the apples.

Place the skillet back in the oven and bake the apples for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they are tender and caramelized.
