Ingredients

  • 6 medium Apples (preferably Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
  • 0.5 cups Granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoons Ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons Lemon juice
  • 0.75 cups All-purpose flour
  • 0.5 cups Rolled oats
  • 0.5 cups Brown sugar
  • 0.5 cups Unsalted butter (cold and cubed)
  • 1 teaspoons Vanilla extract
  • 0.25 teaspoons Salt

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch baking dish and set it aside.

Step 2

Peel, core, and thinly slice the apples. Place them in a large mixing bowl.

Step 3

Add the granulated sugar, ground cinnamon, and lemon juice to the apples. Toss until the apples are evenly coated. Transfer the mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread it out evenly.

Step 4

In another mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, rolled oats, brown sugar, and salt.

Step 5

Add the cold cubed butter to the dry ingredients. Use a pastry cutter, fork, or your fingertips to work the butter into the mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.

Step 6

Stir in the vanilla extract to the crumble topping and mix gently.

Step 7

Sprinkle the crumble mixture evenly over the apple layer in the baking dish.

Step 8

Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the apples are tender.

Step 9

Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving.

Step 10

Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream for extra indulgence.
