Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone mats.
In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Mix in the heavy cream, almond extract, and vanilla extract.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined. Divide the dough into 6 equal portions, wrap each in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
While the dough chills, prepare the filling: In a medium saucepan, combine the prunes and water. Simmer over medium heat for 15-20 minutes, or until the prunes are soft and the water is absorbed.
