Ingredients

  • 2 lbs Chicken wings
  • 3 tbsp Fish sauce
  • 1 tbsp Soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp Honey
  • 2 tbsp Lime juice, freshly squeezed
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 medium Shallot, minced
  • 1 tsp Freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 tsp Chili flakes or fresh red chili, finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp Vegetable oil
  • 2 tbsp Fresh cilantro, chopped (for garnish)
  • 4 pieces Lime wedges (for serving)

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine fish sauce, soy sauce, honey, lime juice, minced garlic, minced shallot, black pepper, chili flakes, and vegetable oil. Mix well to form the marinade.

Step 2

Add the chicken wings to the bowl and toss to coat them evenly with the marinade.

Step 3

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or preferably overnight, to allow the flavors to fully develop.

Step 4

Preheat your grill to medium heat (about 375°F/190°C). Oil the grill grates lightly to prevent sticking.

Step 5

Remove the chicken wings from the marinade, letting any excess drip off, and place them on the grill.

Step 6

Grill the wings for about 8-10 minutes per side, or until they are fully cooked and have a nice charred appearance. Internal temperature should reach 165°F (74°C).

Step 7

While grilling, occasionally brush the wings with the leftover marinade for extra flavor. Stop brushing about 5 minutes before removing them from the grill to avoid any risk from raw marinade.

Step 8

Transfer the grilled chicken wings to a serving plate, garnish with freshly chopped cilantro, and serve with lime wedges on the side.

Step 9

Enjoy your flavorful Vietnamese Grilled Chicken Wings!
