Ingredients

  • 1 pound Ground chicken
  • 1 tablespoon Vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger, minced
  • 1 medium Shallot, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons Soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Fish sauce
  • 1.5 tablespoons Lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon Brown sugar
  • 1 small Red chili, finely chopped (optional)
  • 0.5 cup Carrot, shredded
  • 0.25 cup Water chestnuts, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh mint, chopped
  • 12 pieces Butter lettuce leaves
  • 2 tablespoons Crushed peanuts (optional)

Directions

Step 1

Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

Step 2

Add the minced garlic, ginger, and chopped shallot to the skillet. Sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

Step 3

Add the ground chicken to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook until no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes.

Step 4

In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, fish sauce, lime juice, and brown sugar. Add the chopped red chili if using.
