  • 12 pieces mussels, scrubbed and cleaned
  • 12 pieces medium shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 leaf bay leaf
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper, freshly ground
  • 4 slices crusty bread, for serving

Step 1

Heat the olive oil in a large, heavy-bottomed pot over medium heat.
