Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Place a 6-cup popover or muffin tin into the oven to heat as the oven warms up.
In a medium skillet over medium heat, cook the vegetarian sausage links until browned and heated through, about 5-6 minutes. Slice them into small rounds or crumble them into bite-sized pieces, depending on your preference. Set aside.
In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, and black pepper.
In a separate bowl, combine the eggs and milk. Whisk until smooth and well blended.
Slowly pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, whisking continuously to form a smooth, lump-free batter. Stir in the melted butter.
