Ingredients

  • 250 grams Plant-based minced meat
  • 1 cup Fresh Thai basil leaves
  • 4 cloves Garlic
  • 2 pieces Red chili
  • 3 tablespoons Soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Dark soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Vegetarian oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Neutral oil (e.g., vegetable or canola)
  • 2 cups Cooked jasmine rice (optional, for serving)

Directions

Step 1

Peel the garlic and finely mince it. Slice the red chilies thinly.

Step 2

Heat the neutral oil in a large skillet or wok over medium heat.

Step 3

Add the minced garlic and sliced red chilies to the skillet, and stir-fry until fragrant, about 30 seconds.

Step 4

Add the plant-based minced meat to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spatula as it cooks. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until it begins to brown.

Step 5

In a small bowl, mix the soy sauce, dark soy sauce, vegetarian oyster sauce, and sugar. Pour this sauce into the skillet and stir well to coat the minced meat evenly.

Step 6

Add the fresh Thai basil leaves to the skillet and stir until they wilt, about 30 seconds to 1 minute.

Step 7

Taste the stir-fry and adjust seasonings if needed. Remove from heat.

Step 8

Serve the vegetarian stir-fried minced meat with basil immediately over cooked jasmine rice, if desired.
