Ingredients

  • 200 grams Konjac-based shrimp substitute
  • 30 pieces Wonton wrappers
  • 3 stalks Green onions, finely chopped
  • 100 grams Shiitake mushrooms, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger, minced
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons Soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon Cornstarch
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Vegetable oil
  • 0 Water

Directions

Step 1

Prepare the filling by finely chopping the konjac-based shrimp substitute and place it in a large mixing bowl.

Step 2

Add the finely chopped green onions, shiitake mushrooms, ginger, and garlic to the bowl.

Step 3

Mix in soy sauce, sesame oil, cornstarch, salt, and black pepper. Stir until well combined.

Step 4

Lay a wonton wrapper on a clean surface and spoon about 1 teaspoon of the filling into the center.

Step 5

Moisten the edges of the wrapper with a little water to help seal.

Step 6

Fold the wrapper into a triangular shape, pressing the edges to seal, ensuring there are no air pockets.

Step 7

Bring the two opposite corners of the triangle together, forming a small pouch, and press them to seal using some water as needed.

Step 8

Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the wontons in batches, ensuring they don't touch each other.

Step 9

Cook the wontons for about 2 to 3 minutes until the bottom is golden brown.

Step 10

Carefully add about 1/4 cup of water to the skillet and cover immediately. Let the steam cook the wontons for an additional 3 to 4 minutes until they are translucent and cooked through.

Step 11

Remove the wontons from the skillet and serve hot with your choice of dipping sauce.
