Ingredients

  • 6 pieces Saging Saba (Banana)
  • 0.25 cup Brown sugar
  • 0.5 cup Vegetable oil
  • 0.25 cup Water
  • 0.25 teaspoon Salt

Directions

Step 1

Peel the Saging Saba and slice each banana into half lengthwise.

Step 2

In a small bowl, dissolve the brown sugar in water to create a syrup and set aside.

Step 3

Heat the vegetable oil in a non-stick frying pan over medium heat.

Step 4

Once the oil is hot, carefully place the sliced Saging Saba in the pan. Fry them until they are golden brown on one side, about 3-4 minutes.

Step 5

Flip the bananas and fry the other side until golden brown and cooked through, another 3-4 minutes.

Step 6

Lower the heat and carefully pour the brown sugar syrup over the fried bananas. Add the salt, and allow the mixture to caramelize slightly.

Step 7

Continue to cook for another 2-3 minutes, stirring gently to coat the Saging Saba in the syrup evenly.

Step 8

Once the bananas are well coated and the syrup is slightly thickened, remove from the heat.

Step 9

Serve warm, either as a snack or a side dish.
