Ingredients

  • 500 grams seitan
  • 100 grams all-purpose flour
  • 50 grams cornstarch
  • 150 grams bread crumbs
  • 250 milliliters unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 500 milliliters vegetable oil

Directions

Step 1

In a small bowl, mix the almond milk with the apple cider vinegar and set it aside for about 5 minutes to curdle. This will create a vegan buttermilk.

Cut the seitan into cutlet-sized pieces, about 1 centimeter thick.

Step 3

In a large bowl, combine the flour, cornstarch, smoked paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to ensure the spices are evenly distributed.

Place the bread crumbs in a separate shallow dish.
