Ingredients

  • 300 grams Vegetarian chicken-style pieces
  • 1 large Onion
  • 1 medium Red bell pepper
  • 1 medium Yellow bell pepper
  • 1 medium Green bell pepper
  • 3 large Garlic cloves
  • 1 inch Fresh ginger
  • 2 medium Tomato
  • 2 tablespoons Tomato puree
  • 2 tablespoons Vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 0.5 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon Garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon Coriander powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh cilantro
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon juice

Directions

Step 1

Slice the onion, red, yellow, and green bell peppers into thin strips. Mince the garlic and ginger. Chop the tomatoes into small cubes.

Step 2

Heat the vegetable oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add the cumin seeds and sauté until they start to splutter.

Step 3

Add the minced garlic and ginger to the pan and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.

Step 4

Add the sliced onion to the pan and cook until it becomes translucent, about 3-4 minutes.

Step 5

Add the chopped tomatoes and tomato puree to the pan. Stir well and let it cook for 5 minutes until the tomatoes are soft.

Add turmeric powder, garam masala, coriander powder, red chili powder, and salt to the pan. Mix well and cook for another 2 minutes to let the spices infuse.

Add the vegetarian chicken-style pieces to the pan, stirring to coat them with the spice mixture. Cook for 5 minutes.

Step 8

Add the sliced bell peppers to the pan. Stir everything well and let it cook for another 5 minutes until the peppers are tender but still crisp.

Step 9

Stir in the lemon juice and half of the fresh cilantro.

Step 10

Remove from heat and garnish with the remaining cilantro before serving.
