Ingredients

  • 400 grams yakisoba noodles
  • 200 grams plant-based beef strips
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 medium, sliced onion
  • 1 large, julienned carrot
  • 200 grams, chopped green cabbage
  • 1 medium, sliced red bell pepper
  • 100 grams, sliced shiitake mushrooms
  • 4 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce (vegetarian)
  • 1 tablespoon mirin
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 stalks, chopped green onions
  • 1 tablespoon, for garnish sesame seeds

Directions

Step 1

Prepare the yakisoba noodles according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.

Step 2

Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large pan or wok over medium-high heat.

Step 3

Add the plant-based beef strips and stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until browned and cooked through. Remove from the pan and set aside.

Step 4

In the same pan, add the remaining 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil.

Step 5

Add the sliced onion and stir-fry for 2 minutes until it starts to soften.

Step 6

Add the julienned carrot and stir-fry for another 2 minutes.

Add the chopped cabbage, sliced red bell pepper, and shiitake mushrooms to the pan and stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp.

Step 8

Return the cooked plant-based beef strips to the pan.

Add the cooked yakisoba noodles to the pan.

In a small bowl, combine soy sauce, vegetarian oyster sauce, mirin, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.

Pour the sauce over the noodle and vegetable mixture in the pan.

Toss everything together in the pan for about 2 minutes until everything is well coated and heated through.

Remove from heat and sprinkle with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
