Ingredients

  • 300 grams plant-based ground beef
  • 2 medium potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 100 grams green peas
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 0.5 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 20 ready-to-use samosa pastry sheets
  • 500 ml oil for frying

Directions

Step 1

Boil the diced potatoes in salted water until tender, then drain and set aside.

Step 2

In a medium pan over medium heat, add a small amount of oil and fry the cumin seeds until they start to splutter.

Step 3

Add the chopped onion and sauté until golden brown, about 5 minutes.

Step 4

Stir in the ginger-garlic paste and cook for another minute until fragrant.

Step 5

Add the plant-based ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon, about 5 minutes.

Step 6

Mix in the cooked potatoes, green peas, ground coriander, ground cumin, garam masala, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt.

Step 7

Cook the mixture for another 5-7 minutes, stirring frequently, until everything is well combined and the flavors meld.

Step 8

Remove from heat, stir in chopped cilantro, and let the mixture cool completely.

Step 9

To fill the samosas, place a samosa pastry sheet on a flat surface and fold one end over to form a cone. Wet the edges with water.

Step 10

Spoon a tablespoon of the filling into the cone and seal the edges tightly to form a triangle.

Step 11

Repeat with the remaining filling and pastry sheets.

Step 12

In a deep frying pan, heat the oil over medium heat until hot. You can test by dropping a small piece of bread into the oil; it should sizzle immediately.

Step 13

Gently slide the prepared samosas into the hot oil in batches, frying until golden brown and crisp on all sides, about 5-6 minutes per batch.

Step 14

Remove the samosas with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

Step 15

Serve warm with chutney or your favorite dipping sauce.
