Ingredients

  • 2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 0.75 cup Water
  • 0.25 teaspoon Salt (for dough)
  • 2 cups Cabbage, finely shredded
  • 1 medium Carrot, grated
  • 1 cup Mushrooms, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger, minced
  • 2 tablespoons Soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame oil
  • 3 tablespoons Green onions, finely chopped
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt (for filling)
  • 0.25 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Vegetable oil

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt. Gradually add water, stirring with a fork or spatula, until the dough starts to form.

Step 2

Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic. Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for at least 20 minutes.

Step 3

While the dough is resting, prepare the vegetable filling. In a large skillet over medium heat, add 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil.

Step 4

Add garlic and ginger to the skillet and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.

Step 5

Add shredded cabbage, grated carrot, and chopped mushrooms. Stir-fry for about 5 minutes until the vegetables are softened.

Step 6

Stir in soy sauce, sesame oil, chopped green onions, salt, and black pepper. Cook for another 2 minutes, then remove from heat and let the mixture cool.

Step 7

Once the dough has rested, divide it into 24 even pieces. Roll each piece into a ball and flatten into a small disc about 3 inches in diameter, using a rolling pin.

Step 8

Place about 1 tablespoon of the vegetable filling in the center of each disc.

Step 9

Fold the disc over to form a half-moon shape and pinch the edges together to seal. You can use your fingers or a fork to crimp the edges for a decorative touch.

Step 10

Heat the remaining 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat.

Step 11

Arrange dumplings in the skillet in a single layer, making sure they don't touch. Cook for about 2 minutes, or until the bottoms are golden brown.

Step 12

Carefully add 1/4 cup of water to the skillet and cover immediately to steam the dumplings. Cook for another 5 minutes until the water has evaporated and the dumplings are cooked through.

Step 13

Remove the lid and allow the dumplings to crisp up for an additional minute if desired.

Step 14

Serve hot with soy sauce or your favorite dipping sauce. Enjoy!
