Ingredients

  • 30 pieces Wonton wrappers (vegan)
  • 200 grams Green cabbage
  • 1 medium Carrot
  • 200 grams Firm tofu
  • 3 stalks Green onions
  • 2 cloves Garlic
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger (freshly grated)
  • 2 tablespoons Soy sauce (tamari for gluten-free option)
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon Cornstarch
  • 0.25 teaspoon White pepper
  • 0.25 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 small bowl (for sealing) Water

Directions

Step 1

Finely chop the green cabbage and carrot, and crumble the firm tofu into small pieces using your hands or a fork.

Step 2

Thinly slice the green onions and mince the garlic. Grate the ginger if not already prepared.

Step 3

In a large bowl, combine the cabbage, carrot, tofu, green onions, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, cornstarch, white pepper, and salt. Mix thoroughly until the mixture is well combined and slightly sticky.

Step 4

Prepare a clean surface or use a dumpling-making mat. Place a single vegan wonton wrapper on the surface.

Step 5

Spoon approximately 1 teaspoon of the filling into the center of the wrapper.

Step 6

Dip your finger into the small bowl of water. Moisten the edges of the wrapper with water to help seal it.

Step 7

Fold the wrapper to form a half-moon shape (or bring the edges together in a pleated pattern) and press the edges to seal firmly. Repeat for the remaining wrappers and filling.

Step 8

Prepare a steamer and bring water to a boil. Line the steamer basket with parchment paper or lightly grease it to prevent sticking.

Step 9

Place the dim sims in the steamer basket, ensuring they do not touch each other to avoid sticking.

Step 10

Cover the steamer and steam the dim sims over boiling water for 8–10 minutes, or until the wrappers turn translucent and the filling is heated through.

Step 11

Remove the dim sims from the steamer and allow them to cool slightly before serving.

Step 12

Serve warm with soy sauce, chili oil, or your favorite dipping sauce. Enjoy!
