Ingredients

  • 1 cup canned chickpeas, drained and rinsed

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons oil for frying
  • 4 pieces vegan burger buns
  • 4 pieces lettuce leaves
  • 1 medium tomato, sliced
  • 4 slices vegan cheese slices
  • 8 pieces pickle slices
  • 4 tablespoons vegan mayonnaise

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, mash the drained chickpeas using a fork or potato masher until mostly smooth, leaving a few chunks for texture.

Step 2

Add the cooked quinoa, ground oats, onion, minced garlic, soy sauce, ketchup, smoked paprika, black pepper, and salt. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.

Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions. Form each portion into a ball and slightly flatten it with your hands.

Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, place the patties into the skillet.
