Ingredients

  • 400 grams Firm Tofu
  • 200 grams Seitan
  • 1 large Red Onion
  • 4 cloves Garlic
  • 2 medium Green Chili Pepper
  • 100 grams Silken Tofu
  • 3 tablespoons Soy Sauce
  • 4 tablespoons Vegan Mayonnaise
  • 1 whole Lime
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Vegan Butter
  • 1 tablespoon Coconut Oil

Directions

Step 1

Begin by pressing the firm tofu to remove excess water; wrap it in a clean towel and place a weight on top for 15 minutes.

Step 2

Once the tofu is pressed, cut both the firm tofu and seitan into small cubes.

Step 3

Finely chop the red onion, garlic, and green chili peppers. Set aside for later use.

Step 4

In a skillet, heat coconut oil over medium heat, then add the cubed tofu. Fry until golden brown on all sides. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

Step 5

Using the same skillet, melt the vegan butter and sauté the red onions until they become translucent.

Step 6

Add the garlic and green chili peppers to the skillet and continue cooking for about 2 minutes, or until fragrant.

Step 7

Return the fried tofu to the skillet and add the cubed seitan. Stir to combine.

Step 8

Add soy sauce, lime juice, salt, and black pepper to the mixture. Stir and cook for an additional 5 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.

Step 9

In a bowl, mix the vegan mayonnaise with silken tofu until smooth and creamy. Gradually add this mixture to the skillet, ensuring everything is well-coated.

Step 10

Transfer the sisig mixture onto a pre-heated sizzling plate or skillet and serve immediately, topped with additional green chili slices if desired.
