  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon fennel seeds, crushed
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 0.5 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 0.25 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Directions

Step 1

In a medium-sized bowl, combine the textured vegetable protein (TVP) granules and vegetable broth, stirring well to ensure all the TVP is soaked. Allow it to sit and hydrate for about 5 minutes.

While the TVP is hydrating, in a small bowl, mix together the soy sauce, olive oil, nutritional yeast, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, crushed fennel seeds, dried oregano, dried thyme, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using).

Once the TVP has absorbed the broth, add the spice mixture to the TVP. Stir thoroughly to coat all the granules with the flavorful mix.
