Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 medium, finely chopped yellow onion
  • 2 minced garlic cloves
  • 200 grams, finely chopped button mushrooms
  • 100 grams ground walnuts
  • 50 grams breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons nutritional yeast
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon ground mustard
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 vegan puff pastry sheets
  • 2 tablespoons plant-based milk
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 2

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the finely chopped onion and cook for about 5 minutes until soft and translucent.

Step 3

Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.

Step 4

Add the chopped mushrooms to the skillet and cook for about 8-10 minutes until most of the moisture has evaporated.

Transfer the mushroom mixture to a large mixing bowl. Add the ground walnuts, breadcrumbs, nutritional yeast, soy sauce, ground mustard, dried thyme, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
