In a large mixing bowl, combine the whole wheat flour and salt. Mix well.
Add 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil and mix with your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Gradually add water, a little at a time, and mix to form a soft dough. The dough should be pliable but not sticky.
Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until it is smooth and elastic.
Place the kneaded dough back into the bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rest for 15-20 minutes.
Once rested, divide the dough into 8 equal parts and roll each part into a ball.

Heat a non-stick skillet or tawa over medium heat.
