Ingredients

  • 14 oz extra-firm tofu
  • 0.5 cup cornstarch
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.25 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 0.25 cup soy sauce
  • 0.5 cup orange juice
  • 1 tbsp orange zest
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 3 tbsp maple syrup
  • 2 cloves minced garlic
  • 1 tsp grated ginger
  • 1 tsp Sriracha
  • 1 tbsp water
  • 1 cup jasmine rice
  • 2 tbsp green onions, chopped
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds

Directions

Step 1

Drain the tofu and press it for 15 minutes to remove excess moisture. Cut into 1-inch cubes.

Step 2

In a shallow bowl, combine cornstarch, salt, and black pepper. Toss the tofu cubes in the mixture until well coated.

Step 3

Heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a large non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Add the tofu pieces and cook until golden and crispy on all sides, about 8-10 minutes. Remove and set aside.

In a small mixing bowl, whisk together soy sauce, orange juice, orange zest, rice vinegar, maple syrup, minced garlic, grated ginger, and Sriracha.
