Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons Coconut oil
  • 2 tablespoons Granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 0.25 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup All-purpose flour
  • 2 cups Vegetable oil for frying
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 0.5 cup Additional granulated sugar for coating

Directions

Step 1

In a medium saucepan, combine the water, coconut oil, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and salt. Heat the mixture over medium heat until it comes to a boil.

Step 2

Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and add the all-purpose flour all at once. Stir vigorously with a wooden spoon until the mixture pulls away from the sides of the pan and forms a smooth ball of dough. This should take about 1-2 minutes.

Remove the saucepan from the heat and let the dough cool for about 5 minutes.

Transfer the slightly cooled dough into a piping bag fitted with a star tip. Allow it to rest for a few more minutes while you prepare the oil.
