Ingredients

  • 2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons Baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup Unsweetened almond milk
  • 0.5 cup Maple syrup
  • 0.25 cup Coconut oil
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon Apple cider vinegar
  • 1.5 cups Powdered sugar
  • 3 tablespoons Maple syrup (for glaze)
  • 2 tablespoons Almond milk (for glaze)
  • 0.25 teaspoon Maple extract

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a donut pan.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, and ground cinnamon. Whisk together to ensure they are well combined.

Step 3

In another bowl, mix the almond milk, maple syrup, melted coconut oil, vanilla extract, and apple cider vinegar. Stir until the ingredients are completely blended.

Step 4

Gently fold the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients using a spatula and mix until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

Step 5

Spoon the donut batter into the prepared donut pan, filling each cavity about 3/4 full.

Step 6

Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the donuts are lightly golden and a toothpick inserted in a donut comes out clean.

Step 7

Remove the donuts from the oven and allow them to cool in the pan for about 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Step 8

While the donuts are cooling, prepare the maple glaze. In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, 3 tablespoons of maple syrup, 2 tablespoons of almond milk, and the maple extract until smooth.

Step 9

Once the donuts are fully cooled, dip the top of each donut into the maple glaze, allowing the excess to drip off.

Step 10

Place the glazed donuts back on the wire rack and let them set for about 10 minutes before serving.
