Ingredients

  • 2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 2.25 teaspoons Active dry yeast
  • 0.75 cup Warm water
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup Vegan pizza sauce
  • 1 cup Vegan mozzarella cheese
  • 0.5 cup Cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 0.5 cup Bell pepper, sliced
  • 0.25 cup Red onion, sliced
  • 0.25 cup Sliced black olives
  • 10 leaves Fresh basil leaves
  • 0.5 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Dried oregano
  • 2 tablespoons Cornmeal (for dusting)

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the warm water and sugar, stir to dissolve, then sprinkle the yeast over the top. Let it sit for about 5 minutes, until it becomes frothy.

Step 2

Add the flour, salt, and 1 tablespoon of olive oil to the yeast mixture. Mix until a dough begins to form.

Step 3

Transfer the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes, until the dough is smooth and elastic. If the dough is sticky, add more flour, a little at a time.

Step 4

Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 45 minutes or until it doubles in size.

Step 5

Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven to preheat as well.

Step 6

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and transfer it to a surface dusted with cornmeal. Roll it out to your desired thickness, about 12 inches in diameter for a standard pizza.

Step 7

Transfer the rolled-out dough onto a pizza peel or baking sheet.

Step 8

Spread the vegan pizza sauce evenly over the crust, leaving a small border around the edge for the crust.

Step 9

Sprinkle the vegan mozzarella cheese over the sauce, then evenly distribute the cherry tomatoes, bell pepper, red onion, and black olives on top.

Step 10

Sprinkle the pizza with garlic powder and dried oregano for extra flavor.

Step 11

Drizzle the remaining tablespoon of olive oil over the top for added richness.

Step 12

Carefully transfer the pizza to the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is melted.

Step 13

Remove the pizza from the oven, garnish with fresh basil leaves, and let it cool slightly before slicing.

Step 14

Serve hot and enjoy your delicious vegan homemade pizza!
