Ingredients

  • 1 cup Basmati rice
  • 2 cups Water
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 1 small Onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic cloves, minced
  • 0.5 cup Fresh parsley, chopped
  • 0.25 cup Fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 0.25 cup Fresh dill, chopped
  • 0.25 cup Fresh mint, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Lemon zest
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Lemon juice

Directions

Step 1

Rinse the basmati rice under cold running water until the water runs clear. This will remove excess starch and prevent the rice from becoming sticky.

Step 2

In a medium saucepan, bring 2 cups of water to a boil.

Add the rinsed rice to the boiling water, reduce the heat to low, cover, and cook for 15 minutes or until the rice is tender and the water is absorbed.
