Rinse and dry the endive heads. Cut each head in half lengthwise keeping the core intact to hold the leaves together.
Peel and finely mince the garlic cloves.
In a small bowl, squeeze the juice of the lemon and mix it with olive oil, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper.
Preheat a grill pan over medium-high heat.
Brush each endive half lightly with the lemon-oil mixture on all sides.
