  • 1 cup soy milk

  • 2 cups vegetable oil
  • 0.25 cup agave syrup
  • 0.25 cup soy sauce
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water

Directions

Step 1

Press the tofu: Remove excess liquid from the tofu block by wrapping it in a clean kitchen towel or paper towels and placing a heavy object, like a cast iron skillet, on top for about 15 minutes.

Prepare 'buttermilk': In a shallow bowl, combine soy milk and apple cider vinegar. Stir and let it sit for 5 minutes to curdle.
