Ingredients

  • 1 can (15 oz), drained and rinsed Chickpeas
  • 200 grams, drained and crumbled Firm tofu
  • 3 tablespoons Nutritional yeast
  • 2 tablespoons Soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1 cup Unsweetened plant-based milk
  • 1.5 cups Breadcrumbs
  • 0 for frying Vegetable oil

Directions

Step 1

In a large bowl, mash the chickpeas using a fork or potato masher until they are fairly smooth with some small chunks remaining.

Step 2

Add the crumbled tofu, nutritional yeast, soy sauce, onion powder, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper to the bowl with the mashed chickpeas.

Step 3

Mix the ingredients together thoroughly until they are well combined and form a firm mixture. Adjust seasoning if necessary.

Shape the mixture into approximately 20 small balls, about 1 inch in diameter. Place them on a plate and set aside.
