Heat the olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes.

Add the fresh or frozen corn kernels to the pot, and sauté for 3-4 minutes.
Pour in the vegetable broth, and bring the mixture to a boil.
