  • 500 grams collard greens
  • 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 whole large onion
  • 3 whole garlic cloves
  • 0.5 teaspoon red chili flakes
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Directions

Step 1

Wash the collard greens thoroughly to remove any dirt or grit. Pat them dry with a clean kitchen towel or paper towels.

Stack the collard greens leaves on top of each other, roll them tightly into a cylinder, and slice them into thin ribbons (chiffonade technique). Set them aside.
