Ingredients

  • 15 oz canned black beans
  • 0.75 cup oats
  • 0.5 cup brown rice
  • 0.5 medium onion
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 12 slider buns
  • 12 lettuce leaves
  • 1 large tomato
  • 6 vegan cheese slices
  • 0.25 cup vegan mayonnaise
  • 0.25 cup ketchup

Directions

Step 1

Drain and rinse the canned black beans and place them in a large mixing bowl.

Step 2

Finely chop the onion and mince the garlic cloves.

Step 3

Add the cooked brown rice, oats, chopped onion, minced garlic, soy sauce, smoked paprika, ground cumin, and black pepper to the bowl with the black beans.

Step 4

Using a potato masher or fork, mash the mixture until it's well combined, but still slightly chunky.

Step 5

Form the mixture into 12 evenly-sized patties.

Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
